Lady Pioneers fall to No. 15 Yellow Jackets 77-56
Pagenhardt nets 20 points and seven boards in loss

MARIETTA, Ohio — The Marietta College women's basketball team wrapped up the first half of its Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) schedule Saturday (Jan. 19) afternoon with a 77-56 loss to No. 15 Baldwin-Wallace College on Fenton Court. The loss drops the Lady Pioneers' record to 3-12 overall and 0-9 in OAC. The Yellow Jackets improve to 14-2 overall and 7-2 in the OAC.

It took a while for both team's to get going, as Baldwin-Wallace led just 8-2 through the first four minutes. The Yellow Jackets eventually stretched their lead to 19 points before taking a 43-26 lead into the locker room at halftime. Marietta never got closer than 13 points in the second stanza, as Baldwin-Wallace extended its advantage to 26 and then coasted to the 77-56 victory.

Marietta finished the day shooting 22-of-59 (.373) from the field, including just 3-of-17 (.176) from long range, to go along with 9-of-13 (.692) from the line. The Pioneers turned the ball over 24 times and were out rebounded 38-44. Baldwin-Wallace finished 30-of-66 (.455) from the floor, 2-of-10 (.200) from deep and 15-of-24 (.625) from the charity stripe. The Yellow Jackets, who gave the ball away 13 times, scored 52 points in the paint and 25 points off Marietta turnovers.

Senior Justine Pagenhardt (Oakland, Md./Southern Garrett), the OAC's leading scorer, scored a game-high 20 points while adding seven rebounds. Senior Stephanie Dowd (Willoughby/Willoughby South) and junior Amanda Carraher (Hilliard/Hilliard Davidson) both added eight points, while junior Nikki Driscoll (Bellaire) dished out six assists.

Amanda Schroeder paced Baldwin-Wallace with 18 points, while Ariel Brough pitched in with 10 and Stacia Shrider added nine points and 10 rebounds.

Marietta is back in action on Saturday (Jan. 26) afternoon when the Lady Pioneers visit Ada, Ohio, for a 3 p.m. showdown with first place Ohio Northern University.
