Carraher, who entered 2008 with a nine-match win streak, extended her run to 18 matches before falling to John Carroll’s Sara Crane, a fellow All-OAC first team performer, late in the season. She bounced back to win her final match and finish the year 10-1 at first singles. In her career, Carraher is now 29-4 at first singles. Carraher also teamed up with sophomore Lauren McKiernan (Parkersburg, W.Va./South) to win 7-of-12 first doubles matches this spring.
Marietta tennis, under the helm of first year coach Danika Cox, finished the season 3-9 overall and 2-7 in the OAC. The Pioneers qualified for the OAC Tournament and fell to eventual champion Baldwin-Wallace College in the first round. |
