Marietta men fall at Heidelberg 8-1
Carpenter wins second straight singles match

TIFFIN, Ohio — The Marietta College men's tennis team dropped its fourth straight match to begin the year, falling 8-1 to host Heidelberg College Saturday (March 29) afternoon. The Pioneers moved to 0-4, 0-3 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. The Student Princes improved to 4-4, 1-1 in league play.
Freshman Mike Carpenter (Parkersburg, W.Va.) won Marietta's lone point at fourth singles. Carpenter, who has now won two straight singles matches, defeated his opponent 6-1, 6-2.
The Pioneers are back in action on Tuesday (April 1) when they play host to Bethany (W.Va.) College. Acton begins at 3:30 p.m. at the Beren Tennis Center.
